We
sing through Christmas 2025...
Christmas
was a busy, but wonderful time for us as we were asked to sing
in local pubs and a local golf club, which we very much enjoyed
- Singing in the community is an important part of what we do.
We also were so pleased to welcome Shropshire Brass Ensemble
as our guests at our annual Christmas concert at Brewood, in
the magnificent St Mary & St Chad Church. Once again we had
a sell out concert with an audience of nearly 250 people.
Here are some photos of some of our Christmas appearances as
well as a video on YouTube of
one of the carols our Musical Director has written for us. |

Summer
Concert 2025 - 'Music for Summer'
This Summer we were so pleased to have Gan Teideal Irish Folk
Band as our guests. A capacity audience enjoyed a varied selection
of popular songs from the Singers together with contrasting sets
from Gan Teideal & it made for a wonderful evening. Brewood
Singers and Gan Teideal share the versatile musician which is
Dom Treharne.. accompanist for the singers and Musical Director
and piano accordionist for the band!
Once again the Singers were grateful to our audience for raising
£300 on the raffle for our cause this year which is Multiple
Sclerosis Society.

Christmas
Concerts -
December 2023
Wow! It's been a great lead up to Christmas for us with lots
of enjoyable engagements.
This December we have sung our Christmas repertoire at South
Staffs golf club for an afternoon tea, at St Mary's Church in
Willenhall, The Oakley Arms in Brewood, The Bridge Inn in Brewood,
and our own Sell out concert in St Mary & St Chad Church
Brewood, with our guests Jackfield 10 piece.
We had a new carol written for us by our MD David S Brookes which
we have enjoyed learning and singing at our concerts and we have
had great reaction to our singing at all our appearances and
concerts. We are grateful to everyone for their support.
We held a raffle for the National Autism Society (there is a
Stafford Branch) for which with great generosity from our members
and audience at our annual Christmas Concert we collected £525.
Here
are a selection of photos taken at our various Christmas appearances.

Come
& Sing success for Brewood Singers
As part of the 50 years celebration of Brewood Singers, we recently
held a 'Come and Sing' at St Dominics School in Brewood.
Around 40 members and guests of the Brewood Singers spent the
day learning and singing a variety of old and new music. We were
joined by local people from the Brewood and Coven area, Shropshire
as well as guests from as far as Birkenhead and Lincolnshire!
A great time was had by all - Here are a few photos of the day and videos
of us singing (to
follow).
During
the day memories of the Brewood Singers were shared as many photographs
and programmed from the Brewood Singers archives were on display
for people to look through. The
day was topped off when we all sang to an appreciative audience
of friends and family.
It was
also an occasion to show off the new roller banners, created
from our archives by Mike Coope, one of our basses and a talented
graphic artist. These were funded by the Community Council Rural
Development Fund for South Staffordshire.

| Our support for charities
through singing... |
One of the objectives of the Society
is to make donations to other charitable bodies when we can afford
it. The Singers are a non-profit making society and if finances
allow we make donations to local good causes and charities. The
focus is usually local, or sometimes it can be a cause which
chimes with members of the singers for personal reasons.
In recent times, monies donated to local good causes have been
raised through raffles held at our two main concerts in the Summer
and at Christmas.
In recent years, the committee has decided to support local charities
including, Brewood and District First Responders and Brewood
Dementia support group.
We usually raise between £300-£400 for the chosen
cause. Here you can see members of the committee presenting cheques
to these causes.
Our most recent raffle at our Christmas concert in 2023 saw our
generous audience raise £525 for the National Autistic
Society of which there is a local Stafford branch. |
