Our season started with our usual autumn visit to Homebell House, followed by a Indian meal at Indigo.  On 10th December we all rushed down to Oxley Golf Club after our practice to sing carols for them after their meal.  They really appreciated this.  The concert at Brocton Village Hall on 12th December, turned out to be a very long evening as the concert was punctuated by quite an extensive meal.  It meant quite a late finish, but they appreciated us going.

Our Christmas Concert in Brewood Church was delightful, and we were joined by Harpist, Mary Scott, who delighted everyone with her playing.  This evening saw the demise of my light jacket!!  As I reached over to steady the hand rail on the side of the stageing, as it seemed a little unfirm, I caught the sleeve of my jacket in the flame of one of the candles - something everyone else in the place saw, except me!!  Other than this arm-warming experience, the concert was really lovely and, as usual, so well supported by the folk from Brewood and the host of people I know who travel in especially to come to the concert.  Another most enjoyable evening.

On March 13th 2010, we performed at Newhampton Arts Centre with Dan Whitehouse.  This concert was so different from the sort of thing we are used to doing, and the highlight of the evening was the finale, where the Singers joined with Dan in two songs he had written and which I had arranged for the Singers.  Dan was a delight to work with and we all enjoyed the collaboration.  I know the two songs we did together are on YouTube, so I will try and post a link below.

On Saturday 24th April 2010, we decided to do a Concert with Local Schools in St Mary & Chad's Church, Brewood.  The last time we did this sort of thing was in 2000, so we thought it would be a good idea to do something similar ten years on.  We were joined by St Mary and St Chad First School, Brewood Middle School, St Dominic's School and Perton First School.  We rounded the evening off by a combined performance of the Battle Hymn of the Republic (Mine Eyes Have Seen The Glory).
Our main Summer Concert this year was on July 3rd 2010, with the Jackfield Brass Band in Brewood Parish Church.  Another really lovely evening.
In May we visited High Arcall School Sedgley to join with musicians from the school in putting on a concert.  Interesting that one of our tenors, Norman Brookes helped build this school in the 1950's.
For our last concert of the season the Singers returned to Polesworth Abbey, this time for a joint concert with the Abbey Choir.  Both choirs perfromed really well and were appreciated by all who attended - a really lovely ending to the season.
