Barbecue at Pat's
Our concert at Homebell House in Aldridge on November 11th gave us another opportunity to eat out.  After the concert we went to Indigo, an Indian restaurant for a wonderful Indian meal.
On December 5th 2006 we visited the Staffordshire County Showground and were given a warm welcome when we sung after the Birmingham & Staffordshire Farmers Christmas Meal.  We forgot to take a camera so Anna supplied a drawing of the occasion. (left)
Singing in the Second Millennium
We tried an experiment at the Switching on of the Brewood Lights this year.  We decided to stand off the stage nearer to the keyboard and nearer to me, the Musical Director.  This way we could all hear each other better and therefore perform in a more rounded way.  Whether we could be heard as far away, I don't know - opinion seem to be divided, but it felt better to sing.
This year we sang carols at Himley Hall for the first time.  It was a bit wet under foot - we sang outside, under the shelter of the local radio van.  It was a lovely afternoon, and they took good care of us, providing a room for us to use in between performing 'slots'.  They were obviously impressed as we were asked to do it again next year and they would find a spot for us inside the hall.  Roz took some photos.  Here are a selection on the left and underneath.
This year the carol singing around the hostelries of  Brewood took place on Saturday 16th December 2007.  Yet more photographs below - Roz has been busy again!
Our Christmas Concert on Wednesday 20th December 2006 in Brewood Church was again one of the highlights of the year, when hundreds gathered at this tradition festive occasion.
After Christmas we went out for a meal at the Three Hammers Golf Glub Bistro, one Thursday in January 2007.  Here's Roz with those photos again, but just too many to put on to one web page.  Click HERE to take you to the extra photos.
The Sping Concert went well with out friends from the Tamworth Male Voice Choir, we had a good and very appreciative audience, as did our concert in the Jubilee Hall in the Summer, but with a much smaller audience.
Our concert for the Pheonix Club in July was enjoyed by the audience, despite the poor instrument, which resulted in some of the gentlemen having to go back to Brewood to fetch the clavinova!  This made us late starting, but it was one of those things!
One of the highlights of the year must have been the concert in Wheaton Aston Church with the Glen Ellyn Wheaton Chorale from Chicago, Illinois, USA.  They were on tour in England and wanted to do a concert in their 'Sister City'.  What a delightful set of people and a good time was had by all - especially at the party afterwards.  It would be wonderful to have some photographs of the occasion, and I will certainly post some here as soon as a have some.  In the meantime, we did get a write up in the Chicago Daily Herald, please click HERE to take a look.  A most memorable occasion.
An Indian meal at the Rajput in Codsall (suggested by Claire) during the summer break brought the season to a close.
