A busy but enjoyable year for the Singers .......
Sept 2002 - Aug 2003
It would take too long to comment on every concert this year, so here are some of the highlights.

The Carol Singing at the Black Country Museum:  Although not a very lucrative engagement for the Singers, a good, long and cold night was had by all, punctuated by a drink in the pub.  The Singers looked the part, the ladies with specially made hats to match the capes and the men in bowlers, scarves, waistcoats etc.  It was really a pity that we spent much more on the costumes than we actually managed to recoup with the fee for singing!
Our Christmas concert was well attended and enjoyed by Singers and Audience alike.
Concerts at Coven, Brockton,  the Halling Dene Centre Penkridge & Tettenhall, St Michael's all went well,  and it was good to take part in raising money for Morags Garden in the Summer.
It was quite an honour to be asked to lead the West Midlands Civic Heads Service in September.
It was certainly a squash to get the Singers in the resaurant at the Bridge for the Norbury Boat Club Dinner,  but we managed in the end and it was a nice finish for their meal.
A cold day out in December when we sang at the Switching on of the Lights in Brewood.  We never sing as well outside, but it is always a good do.
The Concert with the Ogmore Valley Male Voice Choir was as memorable for the social occasion afterwards as it was for the concert itself.  Both were excellent.  After the concert in church we hired the Jubilee Hall, the Singers made/ brought food to share and we spent about 3 hours after the concert socialising and entertaining each other.  We will remember Phil from Ogmore, who just happened tro have his guitar with him, and the singing by both groups alternately until we could keep going no longer!  It should certainly be a good return visit in September.

It was wonderful to join with the K & J Male Voice Choir in West Bromwich Town Hall for their 75th Anniversary. Another excellent concert with a very good audience. We joined together to sing 'Impossible Dream' and 'All in the April Evening' - This is becoming a bit of a tradition when we do a concert with them. they are a wonderful group of gentlemen who deserve all the support they get from their audiences. A lovely evening. The Sovereign Brass played too.
