We did a nice lot of concerts this year, including last summers summer concert!  For some reason we decided to do it in the autumn - probably either because of the availability of the Jubilee Hall or because many of the Singers couldn't make the original date!  I remember that our summer concerts were following a similar pattern and less people were attending - perhaps this is why we decided to try a September date?  Were we trying to increase our audience by accommodating those who may have taken an early holiday?
The September Concert was based upon a 'Time' theme.  Here is the programme.
We did two summer concerts this year!!  One in the Autumn of 1997 and one in the Summer of 1998.  The later one was called 'Songs from the Silver Screen'.  We took music from popular films/ musicals and presented them in decades from the 1910's to the 1990's.  The music was linked together by a commentary by Mike Butler.  Here is the programme:
